Stock Market: Sensex, Nifty end flat in highly volatile trade amid monthly expiry

Stock Market Today: The BSE Sensex ended at 74,612.43 and NSE Nifty at 22,545.05 on February 27, 2025, in a volatile trade amid unabated foreign fund outflows and monthly derivatives expiry.

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex pared all the gains of morning and closed 10.31 points higher to settle at 74,612.43 on February 27, 2025 (Thursday). The NSE Nifty slipped 2.50 points or 0.01 per cent to 22,545.05, registering its seventh day of decline.

The benchmark stock indices ended flat in a volatile trade amid unabated foreign fund outflows and monthly derivatives expiry.

The 30-share Sensex climbed 231.97 points to 74,834.09 in early trade today. The NSE Nifty went up 65.75 points to 22,613.30. The equity benchmark indices began the trade on a positive note but later faced volatile trends as foreign institutional investors continued to pull out money, monthly derivatives expiry and weak global market cues.

Gainers from the Sensex pack included, Nestle, Sun Pharma, Zomato, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, and Bajaj Finance. Laggards included, Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank of India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, and Tata Motors.

According to exchange data, Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold equities worth Rs 3,529.10 crore on February 25, 2025.
